Don't rule out pulling cranks. I'm not a kayak fisherman myself but know many that pull cranks for walleye and other species, I don't see why it wouldn't work for crappie too.

You now have stealth on your side, and can tame the skinny water. Don't forget a good float n fly set up. I hair/feather jig under a tiny float is KILLER for shallow water fish.
