Walleye Smithville, Mozingo, Bilby

Update on spring walleye sampling...

We sampled Smithville Dam last night and got 184 walleye injust over a half-hour of shocking. This isthe second highest number (203) we have seen in the last few years. All of the fish were males, and the largestwas 23.5”. We did see a good number of12-15” fish, which bodes well for fishing this next year. Last Tuesday we only got ~70, so it hasramped up quite a bit over the last week.

Tory sampled Mozingo last night and got around 140 walleye ofwhich 10 were females. The biggest fishwas 27” and 10.4 pounds. Last Fridaythey only sampled 30, but many were females just under 10 pounds.

Tory also sampled Bilby and got 21 fish of which 4 were females.
