    Default Lake Pickthorne Report

Went yesterday after work to fish the dock near the boat launch. As each boat came in, everyone had anywhere from 10 to 15 16" slabs!!!

All were using rosie-reds near the fallen timber in about 2 to 3 FOW.

Probably one of the most overlooked lakes in central Arkansas. Hard to fish at times but there are some SLABS in there!

Hmm...I've always seen the AGFC reports list the lake...but never gave it much thought or consideration. I might just head up there soon and look for some fat ladies...What is the max water depth?

    Default Lake Pickthorne

In the past week, many folks have been pulling out MONSTERS. This is the place to be. Here is the lake layout to the best of my abilities to get depth readings.

I will get pictures next time I'm there. But, I'll be at Conway tomorrow and Sunday hopefully catching my limit on crappie and redear.

    Wish me luck!

Thanks for the map! I had read that there was some borrow ditches dug around the perimeter, but couldn't really picture it in my head. I will definitely get out there and try it next week. Is the middle fairly clear to run the motor through there?

Be careful of the middle. Most stobs are visible but the water is only abou4-5 deep.

The map points out the exact spots where the females spawn every year. Some SLABS in the lake but it can be extremely windy!

For the most part you can run your big motor in the GREEN area (I do), but be real careful as limbs and trees float about the entire lake.

I'll just take it easy my first trip...although I might get a lil' too eager with the thoughts of 16" crappie in the livewell!

    16" slabs are nice. WTG!
