I have not seen any worms in fish from either Bull Shoals or Beaver. However, I have caught small mouth bass in crooked creek that had them hanging out of thieir gills. Only the small mouth are affected, but that said, I ain't eat'n nothing out of crooked creek.

Never have seen any on Crappie on Greers Ferry, but the small mouth are real bad in the summer and also once in while you will find them in the large mouth. Dont't know about the whites and hybrids. Dont think the walleye have any either. In the hot summer the perch in the rivers also have them. Also caught a nice slab this spring with a leach attached. First time I had seen this on a Crappie.
I run across those tiny red worm things (Nematode/Round Worm) very seldom in Conway's fish maybe one fish out of every 50 or so I clean and it's been that way for years. Search Fresh water fish parasites and you should be able to find some info on these things. Lowland lakes seem to be most affected, due to habitat and it seems that I read somewhere that birds help the spread of them and they are a natural water parasite like ticks are to us. (Fish are ok to eat). There is another lil yellow worm that loves a largemouth Fillet, I dont know why but the LM's always seem to be the ones most affected by them and I have run accross them in bass from many waters in AR and other states to include TN;). With all this said, examine each fillet carefully and pick out the parasite, cause nobody wants a worm in thier fish no matter where it's caught. CP
