    Default Petit Jean Mountian Lake

Went to the lake on Petit Jean Mountian, Me and my brother fished from about 4pm to Dark and caught near 50 nice bream and a few keeper Crappie. Fished the south bank did our best near the dam, Crickets and wax worms, three feet deep. Caught the Crappie fishing for bream. Nice lake with allot of big bream and crappie in it. This was a slow day up there for me fishing for bream think the lake is just a lil high still for them. But try this lake out if you want some nice bream and keeper sized Crappie. Take a boat. CP

CP, do you ever go fishing and not fill the boat?

    Nice job... again.

LOL ya LMB, I do have my days, That Petit Jean lake is loaded with nice bream and has a fair amount of crappie 9-12 inchers and just about anybody can go up there and fill a cooler with em. The pic shown was just five hours so you can imagine what a full day would be like and if you targeted the crappie also. Small Minnows and slip bobbers have boated me a mess of crappie over the years off that lake also. Its a good little lake with not that much pressure to catch a mess. Hope a few of you all try it out. CP

I was always told it was good Catfishing. The rest was not much, may have been a secert spot for those telling it. CP , we also been hitting smaller lakes with all the high water. The Bream and Redears are bedding now.
Still catching several Channel Cats every day on trotlines on Nimrod. It is forecasted to spill over the Dam spillway again this year. Sure would like to see it down, miss my Crappie fishing.

Yes Nimrod Petit Jean lake has allot of Cats in it, The limits is 5 per person and pole only. Seems like we always catch a couple while fishing for Bream or Crappie. I Fish this lake for bream mainly. It has em and I have also caught limits of keeper sized Crappie over the years also. I don't know how far you live from it, but give it a try the bank across from the dam rock cliff area had some nice bream mainly on wax worms 3-4 feet deep with bobber, also caught the three crappie on wax worms while bream fishing.
