    Default Good Morning/Bad Evening/Lake Conway/5-11-09

On the water at daylight pulled up to the first set of trees I was about to fish flipped in my go to bait on Conway a white and Chart tube, 1/32 oz Chart head and caught my first slab of the morning. Another couple of flips and had another big slab hooked but got off, another couple flips caught another slab and missed another one. Well to make a long story short I caught 11 nice fish and some 9-10 inchers I let go. Fished from 6:30Am to about 12:00 went home and took a break. Back on the water at 4:00 PM fished to dark and could only manage 3 more nice keepers and a nice redear. Tried different colors but the old White and Chart tube saved the day. Seems like they bit better in the morning with overcast then the strong northeast wind and sun popping out shut em down for me. Fished in the Cypress tree clusters in front off Big Cove in Lake Conway. Man that place has put allot of nice fish in the boat for me the last month or so. Until next time God Bless and Good Fishin. Good catch CP!

What is there an endless supply of Crappie in Conway? At this rate, they may become extinct!!!

And thanks for noting your methods and tackle - looks like I will have to 'con' the wife into going to Academy Sports with me and loading up on white and blue's.

I see you're still after 'em! I'm gonna have to find that clump of trees...shouldn't be too hard since there aren't many out there!:D Thanks for the report and pics. Those are some good'uns...
