Well, folks, I know I posted about the trip yesterday (Tuesday) but wanted to add some info. The three 15-inch white crappie I caught yesterday all still with eggs. They were in the newly flooded buckbrush and they liked red-chartruese 1/16oz jigs, tipped w/ a minnow, tight to cover.
I caught all three around 3 pm, then rains came not long after that and I was forced off the water as the lightening decided to do its thang. The water was 5.5 feet above normal then.
Today, it is nearly eight feet above normal (but holding) and the boat ramp at Twin Creeks is totally underwater, as is the parking lot. I'm gonna have to go to Denby (it's steeper) for a while.
May showers. I reckon so. Still got six more large fillets in the freezer. :D

AJ Would that be a 'toon boat?
Yup, it's set up for fishin' with two fishin' chairs forward and two in the back, two live wells and just outfitted great for ole' man fishin'!
If you see me, you'd better flag me as well. I fish alone 90% of the time, so there's always room for you.
I'm on the lake at least three days a week, barring high winds and lightning. So, if any of you crappie commers see me on the water in the South Fork of Ouachita, come on aboard and we'll have us a cold coca-cola and tell a few lies! :p

Arkie John I met you at the crappie camp last week and I have been wanting to fish your lake for a long time. If you need someone to go out and spent some time fishing this great lake I would appreciate a ride or I could pull my boat up there. If you are interested please e-mail me back @ [email protected] or call me @ 501-249-8050. I hope to hear fropm you soon as the water goes down.
