Turkey season is over Friday, and my home lake is covered by Black River, so I'm looking for a backup. Has anyone been to Old Town or Horseshoe lately? I'm trying to get a report.

The bream were red hot at Old Town last weekend as well. Not those super-giants we used to catch years ago, but by most standards, really good bream.
What did you decide Blair? I'm finishing up with my clients and thinking about maybe driving over tonight and giving them a try.

Went down there this morning, thinking we would be able to miss the rain for a while. Fished 15 minutes, didn't catch anything, then the rain, thunder and lightning set in. We sat in the truck for 2 hours, hoping it would let up, but it didn't, so we loaded back up and headed home. It's still raining now! There were a couple of guys there that had driven down from Mt. View to fish today. They never launched their boat. I really hated it for them. There were 2 or 3 places where the water was over the highway going home.
Between my wife thinking I needed to do some things around the house and the rain predictions, I ended up staying at home. I haven't checked this site or even been on a computer since Thurs., so I am getting off some delayed responses. I did finally kill my 2 turkeys, though. Both of them were big birds and the 2d was exceptionally good.
Went to horseshoe yesterday and caught 15 crappie 55 brim. There were 3 of us but still a good day. The brim were bedded up pretty good. Just thought I share the information.
