MIS-Adventures of Lake Conway Trip
Saturday morning: Put in at Adam's Landing. Went to every live cypress and jigged while fighting the wind and stumps! No such luck for 3 hours. Tried my usual southern pro blue/black body chart tail, blue with white tail roadrunner, and chart twister tail all tipped with rosie-reds. (What am I doing wrong CP?)
Well, after running up on a few stumps and having to use my big motor to get off I decided it's time to come in. Went to tie off my boat to a rock, backing up my trailer, the rock became dislodged due to the high winds and I had to run into the water waist high to catch the anchor line, and it took me about 6 tries to get the boat on the trailer (darn wind!).
Came home and worked on garden.
Sunday morning: Darn wind still blowing hard! Put in at Palarm Creek, didn't catch anything. But, afterwards I notice a rusty film on my boat - I was able to wipe it off but that creek was dirty.
Went into Mayflower and drove by Gold Creek - saw about 6-7 boats out there fighting the wind. Hopefully, they were successful with a boat load of crappie. Went to Lawrence Landing and got lost. Wound up in a dead-end in someone's driveway. Pulling a 17' boat and trying to back out was tough! According to the GPS this was a through street (darn Google!!). But, the residents were ABSOLUTELY pleasant and helped me back out.
Arrived at Lawrence Landing and decided I'm a "weenie" due to the wind, went home and worked on yard.
*sigh*
