WTG Chris...glad to see you found some good ones!!! I know those were fun to catch. Things just ain't happening here on Lake Monticello right now..... They are out there but too scattered to do any good. I think the weather is going to have to get hotter so they will start suspending in deep water again.
Appreciate the comments guys. I haven't fished much the past month or so, and it feels good to get into 'em again. Now I'm debating on whether I should skip my very last lecture as a medical student in the morning...or if I should just tuff it out until Thursday. Either way, I'm a free man for the next few weeks...well, except for the wife tellin' me I better get home. Here's to hoping that I can give plenty of good reports in the next few weeks. And if I see you out there sittin' on that hole, DON, I'm gonna whomp you over the head with a 13' fiberglass pole...:D
Nice catch and nice pics. Hope to have a livewell full soon!
CEB nice catch take a couple tips from a old man 73 years old cp unkel get your self a
ice chest to put fish in as soon as you catch them they will be easier to felay and taste a lot better all so a tip on the sun burn i allways wear long sleaves in a cotton shirt thin ones and wide brim hat allways when i was 45 i got melonoma so a word to the wise be careful of the sun burns luck to you on the water talk to later wild rooster3 bye bye
Thanks for the tips. I've always heard that wearing a long sleeve white cotton t-shirt makes a hot day much more comfortable. But, it's about time for me to start fishing topless and get that big ol' white belly a good sunburn...and I'll keep an eye out for the Melanomas.
And I did take my cooler with ice for the trip on Wednesday. I hadn't fished much here lately and didn't think about it already being hot enough to kill 'em. You can bet they were iced down asap once I got off the lake. I'll carry my fish cooler with me through the rest of the summer...Take care, Rooster.
