Went Yesterday morning after the rain and caught several between the storms. Using a Black/Chart tube. 1/32 oz. head and a 2 " superjig. Fished the brush in 6 FOW and caught them about 15-18" deep. Very aggresive
Biggest were 15-17" long and some weighing 2lbs and more. Eggs were still yellow and I think they are still a week or so off from full spawn.
Bar Pits are located east of DesArc on Sand Hills road. No Launch so you have to fish in small flat bottoms or two man plastic boats. But they are full of Slabs! White River is only 200 yards from the pits so continous re-stocking takes place in these ditches.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe someday I'll get a chance to try it.![]()
Gotta love it!
Gooch is the one person I would think twice about taking along in a two man boat. I'll never forget the summer night that he "accidentally" took a dive out of my ol' jon boat at Lake Maumelle. I have to restrain him at all times now...Let me know when you want to go test it out.
