Default DeGray - strike one, strike two, . . .

I'm new to DeGray fishing, so maybe this is just me, but I spent last Thursday and Saturday on the lake and have yet to find these fish. My only crappie came after a I switched to a bass rod with a crank bait (it was a large crappie).

So I'm committed to one more go at them this Thursday. So with two strikes under my belt, any advice to help me avoid striking out is appreciated

I have not fished DeGray this year, so I can't help you. But let me say, that with this weather, I have trouble finding them on my HOME lake, Ouachita, from time to time.

If I were to fish DeGray, I'd fish the warmer water in 6-10 fow on long sloping points that lead to deep water from the shallows. The shallows need to be either sandy or fine gravel.

    Best o' luck to you.

A couple of weeks ago everyone was having luck fishing the backs of coves in 2-8' of water. Then the weather made them go deeper say 10-20' deep in 15-30' of water. I'm not sure where they are now. With the weather we got this past weekend and all of the runoff that went into the lake I would guess they are not very shallow. The water temp was 5 degrees cooler this past weekend than it was a few weeks ago. All this runoff probably didn't help.
