    Default Tried my hand at Walleye fishing the other day


    I came back with these two. Not too bad for a rookie, I thought. They were both just below the slot limit.

    I caught them near the islands around Eden Isle where there are gravel bottoms. I used a chartruese roadrunner head with a black/silver rubber minnow. I got there about an hour before dark and caught those two and two smallmouths. I had several other bites that I missed setting the hook on. As soon as it got dark the bite was off though. I can't wait to try it again.
