Lake Dardanelle pool, I see little about it on here, such a big lake, so little reports, is this just a bad crappie lake? or are them Russellville anglers keeping it a secret. Any Info on this lake at all? Just Wondering CP

Good post CP....I've wondered the same thing.....you don't hear much about their duck hunting either and I know it's real good at times....I'm thinking they may have some real hogs their keeping quiet about. I've never fished Dardanelle but plan to one of these days.
Arkansas Sportman Magizine reports poor spawn there last spring. It told of record spawn at most lakes but Dardanelle was poor they said there wasnt many adult fish there to spawn. The Game and fish have a biologist checking into it to see what going on. It use to be our number one lake, but none of the fisherman around here have tried it due to poor fishing last couple years.
Maybe one of the AGFC fish biologist could take some time and give us info on the lakes problems if any, creel shock test counts, stocking reports and any plans to help the fishery if needed. I plan on calling them but maybe someone in the know will read this and give us a breakdown on the condition of Dardanelle. I know I would be interested. CP

Contact Bob Limbird or Frank Leone in the Russellville Office 1-877-967-7577. Due to the high water for the last two years, the threadfin shad population has really declined. Most of the Game fish are going to suffer this year in that pool of the river. They did some fall trapnetting there last year so they should be able to answer all your questions and concerns.
That is what we are here for is to help you the anglers!!!
Mojorig is correct. Bob Limbird is a man I worked with when I worked for the Corps. He's a straight shooter with a lot of knowledge to share. With Nimrod, Ozark, Blue Mountain and Horsehead all so close, most of the action I hear about are in those waters.
By the way Mojorig, welcome to the forum. There's some super-nice folks that hang out here. <><

I use to live in Dardanelle for about a year and done pretty good in the Piney Bay channel area where ever I could find some wood cover, most of the ones I caught were the blacknose crappie and good size. I've wondered why there's not much on here too. It is really a nice lake.
