    Default Lake Bennett

Anyone on here ever fish Lake Bennett at Wooley Hollow park. Going there next weekend and didn't know if anyone has ever done any good on it. Taking the camper and my new 8' two man and give it a try.

Hey sprtsmn....I haven't ever tried it for crappie....I know most people catfish there...I bass fished it once last year when I was trying to find a place out of the wind and only managed about a dozen dinks....I don't know if it was just the day I fished it or if that was typical of the fish in it. I only fished it for about an hour and a half. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Live at Greenbrier have fished Bennett a several times over the years mostly from the bank as a kid. I never heard of any limits being caught, they stock catfish in it about every couple of years, I hear of a nice size bass every once in a while, have heard of few crappie over the years nothing extra. I hear of people catching the cats on chicken liver.

Thanks for the info. I'm taking the camper there this weekend and I just bought a little 8 foot two man boat to put in the lake. The lady at the park said that AGFC had stocked crappie in there for a while now and that they were catching quite a few now. I'm going to give it a go this weekend. Worst case scenario, I'll try for some bass or throw out some chicken livers and try for an ol' fat cat. Thanks again!
