    Default Beaver Lake is HOT.

We slayed them today! We caught almost all of these crappie on Bobby Garland Baby Shads 3' under a float fished along pole timber and brush. It's good to see this after the devistating 08' season.
Anchoring thes fish were three big females that were 15" and over 2 lbs. There was not one crappie on the board that was less than 13". We ended up with 48 crappie, 2 bass and 2 bluegill. We probably caught over 90 fish today. Get out and go this week if you get the chance!

Great job guys. Beaver lake was the first lake I ever night fished for crappie. That was back in 1976 when my brother lived down thier. Hope you guys have a great season.

Good lookin' fish! What's your water temp up there and did color make a difference?

    Thanks for posting!

This is probably a stupid question, but how is 48 crappie a limit. The limit on Beaver is 15 per person, so either it would be 45 if 3 people were fishing or 60 if 4 people were fishing. By the way, was this in the river arms, or on the main lake?

AJ: Water temp is around 52 in the A.M. Color did make a difference. Black and chartreuse dominated.
G&G: I mis counted. I missed three somewhere! All in the main lake.

Have they moved in to the shallows very much or are you a few weeks off?

Has there been any action on the north end of the lake, everything I've been seeing is getting hooked south of Hickory Creek

    Jason,

Thanks for the come-back post. Beaver is quite a bit cooler than Ouachita. But I will have to put some of those baby shads in my tackle box nevertheless--in black and chartruese. That combination is one of my 'go-to' colors on jigs, along with red-chartruese, red/white, blue/white and Tennessee Shad. <><
