    Smile Still Alive and Kick'n

Hey fellows. Guess you all thought I fell off the edge of the world. Computer problems, health problems and boat problems have taken their toll over the last few months.

I just got back from Florida and fished the Myakka River. Me and my brother caught 197 tilapia in only 5 hours and used only 40 nightcrawlers. Went and did some salt water too. Caught several sheep head and a a few other species that were too uguly to name (the name snake fish comes to mind). Those suckers got a mouth full of teeth and are slipery as trout. Hope to make crappie camp this year if my leg holds up. Doc says I need hip replacement surgery, but I am trying to put it off as long as I can stand it.

Anyone up for a nightstalk on Conway?

Hey Dave, good to see you're still alive and kickin'. And sorry about your hip woes...but at least total hip arthroplasty is a fairly common surgery now, with most ortho's being able to do a great job. You should see 'em at UAMS...they heard folks for hips and knees through there just like cattle. And, I bet you're hip wasn't hurting a bit out there snatchin' up those tilapia. I've never caught one...but will find myself up there by the tilapia hole in a few months.

And as soon as I can find some decent fishin' around here, I'd love to take you fishing. Buy it's way too HOT for a nightstalk on Conway now!!! You know it has to be 30 degrees with a NE wind at 15 knots...:D

Good to be back. You're right too warm for a Conway nightstalk, but it would be different. At least the bait wouldn't freeze in your hand. LOL I have to get my boat in shape for spring fishing. Have to get rid of the old gas and change the oil in the foot, check the batteries. I think I'm going to change to a 12 v trolling motor. The 24 just has too much weight for all the batteries and makes the boat not want to get up plane.

Any one heard from Minnowman? Me and him won a crappie tournement on Beaver a while back.

Speaking of crappie catching, any news about Peckerwood? I've never been there but I hear it is a real crappie lake. Any camping nearby? I'd like to go for a day or two.

I am looking forward to fishing with all you guys again. Still driving the Wareagle Bobberwatcher?
