    Default Grand Lake Today

I fished from 7:00 till 12:00 this morning at Grand Lake. Spent the first hour in Myer's Chute without a single bite and only saw one fish caught among four boats in there. I went out into the main lake and trolled jigs 3-6 ft deep in 4-12 FOW and caught 16 nice slabs. The largest was 2 lb 11 oz. The cold weather has pushed them back into the deeper water for the time being. Here is a pic of my son and his daughter with one of the slabs and a pic of me with the two largest.

Man~you had a GOOD day considering the weather. Thanks for the information. I'll try trolling the jigs if things don't work out on the brush piles. I'll be on Ouachita but your info may apply nicely!

    So...where is Grand Lake?

It is in SE Ark at Eudora........One of the best crappie lakes in the state. My friend from Crossett trolled till 2:00 today and caught over 40....keeping the best 30. It is really an afternoon lake and I plan on getting there sometime before noon tomorrow. I am planning on taking the crankbait rods tomorrow just to try something different.....running the bandits 4-6 ft deep....they were hitting a RR pretty well today. If that doesn't work out I will go back to the jig rods. I was catching them pretty much all over the lake today but they were staying 3-6 ft deep.

Nice catch; next week we'll be staying at Pecan Grove and may try Grand if things are slow at Chicot.
