    Roscoeman. That is encouraging news!!!

I'm just gonna have to come down there and visit. I'm only about 67 miles North of the lake.

Is the lake littered with cypress or are there areas of concentration? I know there are cypress trees at Jack's Isle but that is the extent of my knowledge about it.

Were you using jigs or minnows?

Thanks for the super-encouraging report. I will be back on Ouachita in the morning at daylight. <><

Thanks for the report Roscoeman, those are some fine fish.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

The cypress trees are all over the lake. Look the areas where they are thick they offer more places to fish or the scattered trees also hold a couple fish per tree. I used jigs black/chart. tube.

I tried to post a picture, but after about 30 min. of trying I gave up???

    Default Lake Millwood

Spent Saturday on the Little River. Very interesting day! Water temps were from 57 in the river to 64 on the north banks. We caught 23 keepers total. Only 1 dink. Fish were either staging in about 8 feet of water or spawning on humps and cypress trees. The deeper females had no eggs and were caught on chartruse crankbaits. The shallower fish were caught with rosies on the back side of the shallow humps. I think a few of the larger females had spawned out and were back in the staging area.

Caught several good bass, drum and catfish. They were hitting orange spoons if you can believe that! The water was a little lower than normal. The white bass were not around patterson shoals like they usually are first week of March. We caught 9. People I talked to were hammering them upriver though. Ended the day with a fish hook in the nose! The fish got even. Great day though

I was out on Friday 3-6-09

    State Park - 56.2
South End Main Lake - 56.0
    West side shallows - 56.8
    North east corner - 57.6

With the warm days and nights we have had the past 3 days, I bet it's a
    hair warmer now.

    Thanks prpjt,
This cold front coming in is definitely going to slow the warm-up down.
