    Default Info on Lake Degray?

We will be camping and fishing on Lake Degray Ar the first weekend of May. Anyone care to give me any pointers on where to start looking for crappie then?
Not looking for your honey holes (I can find them with the 987c-SI:D) But just some info on where would be a good spot to start out. AS I have never been on this lake.
    Thanks in advance

Most of the people that I hear about doing well are normally fishing the upper part of the lake. I'd check out the Alpine Ridge, Shouse Ford, and Point Cedar areas.

I normally fish Brushy Creek, but a lot of that is just because of convenience. It's the closest ramp to where I live. Bass fishing is good out from Arlie Moore and down around the dam/spillway area.

Pete I bet Jerry Blake or Darryl Morris can point you in the right direction. I think they put out some bamboo there when they were planning on guiding there.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

    Hey Pete:

I have waypoints for a few condos and brushpiles we found or were shown up in the Shouse Ford, Point Cedar and Cox Creek area. That's the only area of the lake that I've fished for crappie. If you want the waypoints shoot me an email - [email protected].

The black crappie should be in a post spawn pattern and the white crappie will probably still be spawning but fairly deep. Just guessing I would expect to find both species around 10 to 12-feet deep but that all depends on the weather.

I haven't been on DeGray in over a year but I may be there tomorrow, if so I'll let you know how we do.
    FISH ON!

BTW, by the time you make it down to DeGray there should be about 80 crappie condos for you to check out. See this thread: FFA Fish Habitat Program

We should have the condos in Degray by the end of March. The Corp is planning on dropping them in various depths so maybe some of them will be just right when you're down.

BTW, which camping area are you planning on using?
