    Default Connerly Bayou Directions

It's been over a decade since I have been to Connerly Bayou. I will be headed south on 65 out of Dermott. How do I get to the boat ramp from there?

    Thanks in advance.

Turn left on Hwy 257 and it is 3.7 miles to the ramp parking area, on left. Good luck, when are you going.

    Thanks!

I plan to leave Warren by noon tomorrow. I hope to be fishin by 1:30.

My name is Rocky, and I am short dude. I think I'll have my boat there, which is a 90's Tracker with 40 horse tracker (mercury) motor. If you are there and see me, then say "hi".

Vetrock, I'll be there tomorrow, I'll be in a War Eagle boat with crappie.com stickers and my handle on it. I'll probably be up toward the dam end of the bayou. Holler at me if you see me, and hope you have a good day.

    Default Connerly Report

My Bro in law and I had a great time this afternoon fishing. The wind was rough and the fishing was slow, but it is always good to get out on the water.

I met LA Stumpjumper. He is an incredibly nice fellow, who was very specifically helpful.

We kept 10 crappie, all 10"-11.5". It took us most of the day to figure out what worked best for us. They hit a black / chartruese jig with a black head and a pink crappie nibble the best. We caught some on other combos though all had chartreuse in them, but we never caught one that did not have the nibble on the hook. White and green nibble would work too, but not as well.

Almost all were 5'-7' deep. There is a fallen tree on the left about 100 yds before the railroad pylons. 5 of them were caught there. Most fisherman headed out by 5pm, and we caught most of our fish between 5-6pm.

Good to see you guys on here. I am orginally from Warren and am now in Atlanta, GA area w/ the military. I hear the bite has been on in recent weeks on this part of the lake. Are the white bass still biting as well?

It was nice meeting you Vetrock. My brother and I went back down the bayou and found some better fish on a top, and caught 7 more nice fish. We left around 5, and ended up with 28, but it took us all day. Headed back this morning, wind is supposed to be worse today, but maybe the fishing will be better with the front coming in tonight. Hope to see you on the water again sometimes.

Hey Webbslinger, yeah the white bass were biting too. They were catching them up by the dam.

Went to Connerly today, it was very windy. The size was better today, some really nice fish. My brother and I caught 29 on a orange head jig and chartruese tube about 5-6 ft deep. The water was 54 -56 degrees. Supposed to be raining tommorrow, if you go, good luck.
