Default All our North Arkansas brethren

I just wanted to send out a prayer to you guys up north. I can't even imagine the damage 3 in thick ice can do. Over 250,000 people without electricity. Here in Arkadelphia, we got a trace and that was it. Hope yor lives get back to normal as soon as possible.

Batesville caught a break this time. Places North, West, and East of us were hit pretty hard. A coworker called in today and said it would be at least Sunday before he got power back on. With the temps dropping into the low teens tonight some are in for a cold night.

We caught a break here also, but I really feel those that didn't....looks really bad for the folks north of here. I'm wanting some warmer weather so I can get my boat rigged back up for fishing from duck hunting. Hope everyone stays warm and safe!

I remember how much havoc the ice caused around Arkadelphia in 2000(?). It was crazy how many trees fell during that week. Sounded like gunshots all day long from the trees and limbs snapping. Hopefully they won't be out of electricity for too long.

    Default War Zone

I am at work in North Little Rock until Friday. My wife says it looks like a war zone. we have at least a dozen trees down, the meter loop was ripped off my shop and several power poles and their lines are down. At least the boat, the wife the dogs and the house are ok.

As an employee of the Electric Utility serving the Heber Springs area, thanks for all your support and well wishes; although I don't work in the field I'll pass the word along.

Went to Newport and Tuckerman today, and it looked like a tornado had gone through there. I counted 11 power poles in a row broken off at the ground just North of Tuckerman. My boss Mother's house had a huge oak tree thru the roof. It will take weeks to get power back to some area there.

    Hey guys,
Im one of the lucky ones. We are on Jonesboro City utilities and was without heat/power for only 1 day. The utility people restoring power, working in the cold and giving much of themselves when they too are without power/heat are to be congratulated-those guys are heros. THANKS Jonesboro CW&L!
The outlying areas will be weeks before power restored. I'll be on the saw this weekend cutting trees at my mom and dads which went through the roof.
Its awful, but my boat, family and dogs are safe and warm!
    Come on spring!!!!!!!

It was insane. I will probably never see anything like it again in my lifetime. It truly was the storm of the century! It was like being on another planet! I'm ready for March!
