I think driftmaster makes the best holders on the market. I have 2 on the front of the boat. As for the war eagle holders, I have a 861 War Eagle Predator boat and they gave me 2 of the war eagle holders and I mounted them on the back of the boat to troll crankbaits. They work great for that. You do have the bend them to make them work.
My boat is like Hogslab's, an 861 Predator. I use Perotti rod holders on the front of mine and thinking about a couple for the kids on the back. Driftmaster and Perotti are similar, the driftmasters just have a little more stability for the taller ones. What about these War Eagle gave you for the back? I am interested to see that.
I bent a single not a spider rig.
I got the Bee Ready, and so does my bro in law. They are great.
LRJoe,
I saw those several months back on the forum here somewhere...may have been on the main forum.
I went to lowes and got the stuff and made my own for my little 10ft pelican. used some PVC pipe with a t-on top with bout 1 foot of pipe out each end of the T and then a "U" bolt screwed into the end of each piece. Depending on the height I wanted for my rod tips I bent the U bolts up or down.
Maybe not the best but it worked for what I needed it to and a good little task to do on a rainy day
I broke down and ordered the t-250 from drift master.
Thanks to everyone for all the help!
Looked at the HiTek and was so impressed I ordered four for my Nitro. Thanks for the heads up about these. Looks "neater" than Driftmaster and I'm too much of a retard to make my own.
Dr.John - You won't regret it. I have tried the Driftmasters and a couple of the others and just wasn't satisfied as it seemed like I was always having to change the adjustments and never could get them just right. If one rod is not sitting just right in the holder it will worry the crap out of me and take my attention off the other rods. I am very picky about all the rod tips being spaced correctly and exactly the same distance from the water so that I can see any minute difference that may indicate a light hit. The simplicity of being able to make very precise adjustments to the rods in the HiTeks is amazing. These things are very solid and extremely well built. I saw ONEON at a boatramp one day and he had the HiTeks on his boat and I was so impressed that I got him to give me the website and I wrote it on my hand with a pen. Went straight home and ordered them and it has been a world of difference.
Can't wait to get them Luvpt...sounds like you're a little "CDO" like me...that's Obsessive, Compulsive, Disorder...only in "alphabetical" order, like it should be! ;)
