The day after my brother caught his 3lb. 5oz. crappie and I the 3-2, we went back to C C again. It was another good day, unusual for there, to have 2 good days in a row. Today was my day for a 3-5 and 7 other good fish and my brother caught another 3 pound fish, 3-0. We both now have identical biggest crappie that we had ever caught. Both 16 7/8 inches long and both 3lb. 5oz. We took them to the taxidermist the next day and are going to have them mounted the same way. We'll always have something to remember our trip for those two days and memories of all the good times we've shared crappie fishing together. Well enough rambling here are some pictures.
The big one of the day.
Two of the best that day 3-5, and 2-14
My brother with a couple of good ones.
The catch for the day.
Now that we have our wallhangers and the pressure is off, we're still going to fish there this time of year for the big ones, but not as much and fish more of the places where you can catch more fish and have more consistant action. Cane Creek is a special place with some special fish , but you'll have more days like we had yesterday (sat.), than you will good days, we fished all day from daylight til 4:30pm without the first bite, and fished all the holes that I always fish. Well that's why they call it fishing not catching.
A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

There are two things to aim for in life: First, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieves the second. Author unknown, but I like it!
That is some good crappie. Looks like the 1st of December may be the time
to come down and get a big one.
I'm thinking about coming down around the 1st of February and stay a COUPLE
of weeks, is that a good time to come down.
Unbelieveable!!! Jerry I have been to Cane Creek two times now in my life and never got a bite either time. I guess I just don't have the patience! Those are some awesome fish you have caught. That pic with you holding up the two big one's is the best fish pic I have ever seen...period ! ! ! Hope to see you on L.M. soon.

Congatulations on the big fish. Maybe now you've got 'em figured out. I'm glad to hear you guys are having them mounted too.
Thanks for the invite and advice. I enjoyed the trip. Hope you keep on catchin' those biguns now that you got 'em started. Check your PM's. Don Stamper
Jerry I missed this post, but I seen the pics you sent Randy so I wanted to find the thread.. Man them are some awesome fish yall have been pulling out of CC, and from what I read, its also a very hard lake to find them in. And I am sure after 4+ 3lbers in a couple trips they are gonna swarm that lake in search of their 3lber only to leave heartbroken cause the lake is so hard to fish... Glad to see that you and your brother both have equal fish. Gonna look great on the wall. Congrats to you and your brother.
You can't fish with a hung line!
