Lower White River....Maddox Bay

I am in the process of leasing a home near the Lower White River and Maddox Bay. I am leasing the place only for the hunting but a friend of mine that will be leasing the property with me is a crappie man. I have been told by the owner that they catch some nice fish in the area but would like more input if anyone has any. Thanks!!

It can be a really good area to fish. It has been down for the last few years. You have to catch the water at the right level. You can put in at Maddox Bay Landing and motor to several small oxbows if the water is at the right level. Some people do ok in the bay itself. Kansas lake is just 4 or 5 miles away and it can really be good. You can reach several lakes on the White River Reserve if you drive just a few miles. Some of the lakes are Moon, Buck, Goose, and Hog Thief.
