    Default Ouachita

I got there Friday morning and got my Teardrop set up about 9:00 AM. Went to a couple of older condos we have had out for a few years and picked up a couple. Went back to the first one that I tried and hit the jackpot.:D Got my limit by lunch. The trip went down hill after thatBoat starting running ruff, trash in carbs I think, then water pump quite pumping at slow speed and wind started gusting. Ended up with 36 nice black crappie. I am going to give Greers a try sometime this weekend.

Sounds like a weekend of mixed emotions but over all pretty good.

Sounds like the bite is improving. Sorry about your boat. What area of Lake Ouachita have you been fishing?

I'm headed back to Twin Creeks tomorrow morning (Thursday) to see how much the water has cooled over the past few days.

I hope to take a few more than I have been averaging.

I have some pvc condos to distribute but will wait for lil' bro to go with me sos we can do it right.

What area are you fishing, slick? Maybe I need to go to mid-lake for a change.

Sounds like a good trip, except for the motor problems.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

Looks like the motor woes are spreading...They always say these things happen in 3's. Since you and BW are down, just leaves me wonderin' who's next... Guess I better go ahead and give mine a little seafoam.

But, that's a great catch, Slick. Good luck with your motor problems...

Charlie and John, I was fishing the North end of the lake, Iron Fork and North Fork area. We were camping at the old Girl Scout Camp. I wish I had got some pictures but did not have my camera. The blacks have a gold tint like the ones at Cane Creek. Ceb, thats what happens when you don't use a boat all summer. I took it to Greers a couple of weeks ago and everything seemed fine but when I ran my first tank of gas out and hooked up my second tank I think it had trash and water in it. I have been spraying Sea Foam in it and I think it is runnig better. Got the water pump changed out yesterday. I can fish off my toon at Greers but need my little boat for Cane Creek.:D

I had a chance to fish from a freinds dock this morning on my way to Mt. Ida for an appointment. I only had 20min this morning to fish before I had to leave and I caught 7 real quick over one of the brushpiles I have under his houseboat. I came back after my appointment and they had slowed and were not hitting near as hard. I ended up catching 10 this afternoon for a total of 17. None were smaller than my shoe but no real hogs either. They seemed thin to me but its been so long since I had a chance to fish my mind may be playing tricks on me. I caught them on white (till I lost it) and Tenn Shad fished in and over PVC and boo. Deepest I caught one was right off the bottom 25/30 feet and the shallow fish were about 7. When I returned in the afternoon a guide and an employee of the marina were both fishing the dock. They sure were looking at me funny fishing in a suit and tie with a 2 foot light action ice fishing rod and reel.
