THANKS A BUNCH for the info turtlebait!!!!!
It looked as if the water was "turning" or getting ready to at portia bay...
did some evening fishing using submersible lights- NOTHIN, also threw out some juglines w/live bait thinkin MAYBE a catfish or 2 would hit.......NOTHIN
I guess better times ahead?
Its world wind not wind world.
Your welcome tommyboyrn.
Which lake did you fish blairaronld??
Went back to black river today, did pretty good.
More then likely around here most oxbows will be turning over, the rivers or bigger lakes would be better fishing.
Even tho I did pretty good today,it took all day to do it.Didn't catch hardly anything until bout 2 1/2 hours before dark. When they started hitting they hit hard with the jig stuck way back in their mouths. They were mean, running sideways, jumping like bass, zig zagging like gar and a good battle to get them to the boat.Didn't take long to get a limit when they started hitting.1/2 hour before dark they turned off as fast as they turned on,only catched two in that time frame.I fished the same area this morning and around noon only catching a few small ones and decided to give it one more try before dark, glad I did.It was gun and go,gun and go all day long, got where I didn't want to pull the T.M. up I was getting so tried of doing so but I hate for a fish to out smart me lol.
Friend wants me to go to Old Town lake in the morning,I may and may not,its a oxbow too and may be turning over too.
Thanks for info turtlebait.
I fished the evening at poinsett in harrisburg. water is clear and a prettygood lake for crappie. Heard people doing well on juglines, just might not have been my night, may have lines too deep, etc.
for night crappie, I have always heard you can do well, but I have submersible and floating lights, fished the edges of the light at varying depths w/minnows and NOTHIN. even tried changing locations around the lake to places that have structure in bout 15-19 fow in mouth of cove....nutin
im ready to catch a mess of fish.......so far they have out smarted me:(
I was at a private lake off Black River in Independence County.
Ok,I thought it may be a old oxbow off black that they called private that had a name.I know one man made lake north of Poc. that had slads for a few years when they sorta vanished.
I know alot of oxbows off black that are called private and some you cann't get to anymore b/c the roads are no longer there.I used to love going to a oxbow south of newport, the farmer let people fish it from 7am until 7pm.Now this year you no longer can fish it,its private.I can get the ok to fish it but had rather not,Like I told him if something does come up missing he could rule me out.Alot of people repected him for letting them come and go as they pleased but a few didn't.He had stealing off power units and 4wheeldrives rutting up field roads, cann't blame him.

I know most of you will be in the deer woods this weekend...I'll be on greeson saturday Nov. 8th I hope. Probably in the afternoon, if I get my bass boat rigged up this week. I hope I will. Probably put in at self creek and fish up in there...Going to watch temps...I hope it will get down below 65. Going to watch reports. I'll be up there in a blue Ranger 373V Bass Boat if you see me stop and say hi!
I'm going to Clear Lake Saturday with my new fishing buddy :) I've fished there a couple times and didn't have any luck but it's so close to home, and the thing is......I don't care where I go - I just want to go!!! So....wish me and Jim luck!!! If we do well...I'll post it!!!!
