Default Lake Conway Gold Creek & Caney Creek

Hey all you Lake Conway fisherman I have fished both gold and caney creek in the last 3 days and it appears that a bio mass has moved into Caney Creek right now. Catching some better fish on average than in gold creek right now. Jig pole 1/32 Char head white and char skirt nails them in the pads pearltruse skirt works good also at daylight and just before dark, catching some 2 foot deep with minnows/jig and casting bobber these fish will suspend in the creek so also have a casting rig with jig or minnow. Best fishing from the mouth to the bend at caney creek bridge right now, as the weather cools fish will move on up the creek. Good fishing around bridge if you get there early before the bank fisherman get there. But you may find them anywhere in the creek right now. Warning this is a small boat creek with a make shift ramp on the east side of bridge. You can get into the creek with a bigger boat if you want to take your chances with the make shift ramp or come in from the lake. But be cautious of all those stumps. Good Luck CrappiePro...

Thanks for the report. Does the wind effect it or is it protected? The fall bite is under way everywhere it seems.

I have been in Caney Creek a couple of times. The wind has no effect on it. But, I wouldn't want to venture off into it even with your boat. Well I would yours instead of mine. Crappie Pro is correct. A two man bass buggy or a 12' flat bottom would be ideal. I came in from the lake side one time. I bent a lower unit shaft going in. Coming out I thought I would let the wind do the work while crossing the lake and just steer with my trolling motor. I hit a stump and broke my TM off. I guess I should of quit when I tore the big motor up that day. But, once you are there, Caney Creek is a blast in the Fall.
