I went to Greer's yesterday afternoon and managed a few pretty good fish trolling bandits. The crappie bite was pretty slow with just a bite here and there. The bass were really biting. Twice I caught 2 bass at once on one crank bait. I started out fishing the timber in 15'-30' of water where I caught them on the last trip and never caught a crappie. I ended up catching these in 60'- 70' of water over submerged timber. The fish were really stacked up on the timber at 20'-40' in 50'-70' of water. I think I guy could have done well fishing with minnows deep on the submerged trees. Lots of trees I'd mark 15-20+ fish on holding tight to the cover right on the edge of the creek channel.
Looks like you had a good day.
nice catch
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
Nice mess of crappie SS, appreciate the good detailed report and pictures.
A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

Very nice mess.
I tried cranking GF's again this evening and only managed 6 but they were all good ones. It was nice out though and I had the lake to myself. First time I've gone a weekend and found the parking lot completely empty.
SS your back must be doing better. I glad you are able to get out and fish. I may try to take a day off this week and see if any around the Hill Creek area want to take a boat ride.:D

I'm game CS. Shoot me a pm and let me know what your plans are. I think I'm pretty good for any day besides Friday.
Hey SS, that sure is a fine lookin' mess of slabs there. Slo-trollin' those deep brushpiles may be just the ticket now that they are starting to congregate. After fishing the bottom of L. Monticello in 50' of water, I can tell you that slo-trollin' that deep can be a real pain. But if your catchin' fish...it's tolerable.:D
