Grand Lake results

Fished yesterday 4/3/09 for 6 hrs and did not land a crappie. Caught drum and white bass but no crappie. There was a few caught trolling. The cold weather has made a difference. I tried it all with no success. I will have to see the fish to believe a good report on this day.

I fished from 1 PM till 5:30 PM on Friday the 3rd and had 18 in the livewell with some over 1 & 1/2 lbs. My friend in a different boat had 7 and another had 5. They saw me catching fish but I didn't take pictures. I was trolling. And I caught an 8 lb 1 oz Drum. Whew! I didn't think that jig pole was gonna' make it.

That's good fishin' Bill.....And it's good to see you on the board. Last time I saw you I was trying to troll Connerly on a cold windy day (didn't want to fight Grand) without a whole lot of luck except for those white bass down at the end. You had just finished your limit at a top down past the trestle when I went by. I know that 8 lb Drum must have been tough but you should have seen me a while back when I hung a 23 lb buffalo in the tail. That was on a 16 ft B&M trolling rod with 6# line tied with a loop knot. I had my hands full for a while.........but still had some good buffalo ribs for supper the next night! Take Care. Steve
