Have you guys had any dealings with the Asian minnow. Down here in my area you can get this minnow, not sure of the exact name, but it seems to live forever in a 5 gal. bucket in the shade. I just change the water twice a week from my well. They look like small bream.
I used the shiner and before I got to the river a lot of them died or did when I put them in that hot water.
The guy that owns the bait shop told me he stops selling shiners until it gets cool--customers were totally unhappy.
These minnows are said to stand water to 140 %---
I am going to ask him the exact name--they have to be legal--he is licensed in Arkansas.
They also come in three sizes--Crappie---Bass and Trotline

Wish we had some of them around here, but all we ever get are shiners and blackheads, and the blackheads are so small it's hard to hook them.

My camera hook-up I returned it to Walmarts. I am trying to contact the guy who sells them at the bait shop---I will post the name of them today and I will also find out where he buys them.

Is this the same fish as I have posted on the side as my in my profile . I scanned an actual minnow, but seems I can not enlarge it.
At any rate I am going to make sure this is the minnow, but I think it is.----I get these for less than 2 bucks a dozen or he sells them by the pond. I bought some for trotlines about 3 weeks ago and they are still alive.

looks like a Tilapia, if it is, it is non-native to Arkansas, fish and game stocks them in some of the lakes, they grow fast and are good eating, but when the weather gets cold they die.

just what we need. another non native fish to come in and screw things up. Tried Zebra Mussels yet? They probably work great.

I checked with the bait shop at Cotton Shed--it is a tilapia, small like a bream, but they live forever as a minnow. Change the water about 1-2 times a week and I had some that lived for about 2 months until I used them on a trotline.
