Default Big Fish on BnM Ultra Lite

The crappie are still biting on Lake Greeson and the catfish are starting to show up too. We landed this 10lb.5oz. blue using a 10' BnM Ultra Lite (BBUL) with 6# Ande line and a 1/32oz. Slater's jig tipped with a rosey red.

    Hey Darryl,

I bet that was a fun fight. Looks like y'all are doing some catfishin trips.

Are you going to do any of the bass and catfish trips with the crawfish? I still need to book a trip that I missed in the spring and bring one of my customers down.

Oh yeah, we are already ordering a few crawfish from our bait source and periodically checking the on the bass. Wished we were seeing more surface activity but it won't be long. We hope to be the first after them with live crawfish this year.

Default another big fish on B&M

This catfish was caught on a B&M 6.5' Buck's Graphite Crappie Spinning Rod last fall and it weighed in just over 17 pounds. We caught it on a 1/16 oz jighead and a Southern Pro 2" hot grub on 6 pound line! It took the boy (and the dad) who caught it 10 minutes to land!

Haven't really tried it this year, but in years past I have fished exactly the same way only we usually do with a cricket instead of a minnow 14-16' deep on the condos and caught ample number of bream.

I'll bet he put a pretty good bend in that rod...:D I can sit here and just imagine how much slime he put on the line. Them things make a pretty good snot bugger to flick at you fishin' partner. But I guess your client might not take it the right way... Reminds me about the story of Gooch slappin' one fishin' partner in the face with one...said the boy didn't know whether to cry, run, or just get in the fetal position...
