    Default Little black demons

Has anyone found anything that keeps the gnats away? I tried everything I can think of to keep them away and nothing works for more than a couple of minutes. People keep telling me skin-so-soft works but I tried it and it didn't faze them. Cigarette smoke knocks them back but a guy can't smoke constantly. I'm about to decide a head net might be the way to go. If anyone has found something that works please let me know as those things are putting a real damper on the fishing.

I bought a thermacell today but havent tried it yet. I mix a little vanilla extract with skin so soft ...they still buzz around but dont bite. Good luck they do ruin a day.
Was that a bite? Forgot what they feel like!

I agree...they're horrible this year. Turns out I'm allergic to them, too, so I've got some nice welts today. Had a guy tell me that they don't like fabric softener sheets, so I put one of those in my hat, but they were still all over me. Bug spray didn't touch them. Smoke was the only thing that would keep them away for a while, and I went through 2 packs yesterday
    I think I got one...

Bug nets and long sleeves work on Toledo Bend. I have also purchased a Themacell but have yet to use it. Will have the nets on standby though.

I was told about this mixture yesterday. I havent used it yet but my buddies fished Dardenale last week and said it worked.

Listerene and Water a 50/50 mixture. Put it in a spray bottle. Spray it all over you, and just rub it around your ears, eyes, neck. They said it was a miracle potion. TOP SECRET TOO, so dont tell anyone

I have been told that dabbing vanilla extract on you and your clothes will keep them from biting. My dad has tried it this year and said that it works well for him

    Default listerine

I have the tried the listerine in a spray bottle at home around on my back deck
when I'm bbqing and it seems to work fine. I use it full strength & its cheap to use. It don't have to be a name brand. I don't have gnats, so I don't know if it will work for them also. Try it full strength & spray it all over & around you while you're fishing.
