Well boys it's officially on!
When i saw my sweet lil girl sitting in the back of the boat, CASTING a 4 1/2' spinning rod 1 handed and yes she closes the bail manually, i knew my time as the teacher was over!. Accuracy, well that will improve in time. Ya see i ran some Merc Power Tune thru my motor yesterday and needed to go to the lake to run the boat, so i picked her up and off we went. After running the boat she wanted to fish, so we did. pulled into a small cove and we were fishing! and we fished hard with very little successbut none the less we were fishing! I still need to do a few things to make it a bit better for her, 1 is to throw the peice of crap Wally Marshall reel she has in the lake and get her a Mitchell 310. 2. is to get a new pedistool and shorten it so her feet can touch the deck ( when she casts she swivels a lil i think that is most of the accuracy prob) 3. is to get her some cool polorized shades and a new life vest, the vest she has now is a bulky 1 ( u know the kind ) I feel like it's my job to make sure that she gets quality stuff to make her time more enjoyable, so in turn she will stay this all her life and teach her kids to fish ( i hope she don't marry a sissy). She has already told me that when she's a doctor shes gonna take every Friday off so we can fish together, i hope this 1 works out for us.
try Power tune it really works, just make sure that the prop is turned away from any hing white

SO glad to hear that wonderful update! It was so good to hear her voice on the phone before you two went out yesterday! Hope you have MANY MORE trips with her in the near future....call me soon, I found a REAL SWEET reel for REAL CHEAP at bass pro that she'd probably eat alive (it's made for kids!)
That Mitchell 310 may be a little much for her still you think? It's like a little boy trying to swing a HUGE bat...it CAN be done, but not with much accuracy. You know? Just a thought buddy....Miss you guys! MinnowMan

Congrats
Let's see, i think i was bout 39
No seriously,
We have life jackets that are pretty small! the first time she was out she was bout 18 months, but those were just boat rides. I guess she got a Sponge Bob rod bout 2 and was upgraded to a 4 1/2 micro light a few months later and started gettin serious about 3. Now she is makin me look bad!
As far as age for your child you will know when the time is right! i was lucky KKtPFP's mom worked weekends so it was a while before she even knew Kate was going. Dont worry your wife will stroke out when its time!
the first 1 if this year and the next 2 are from last year
Shes pretty famous around this board and i think the celeb status is goin to her head

She's a cutie. Thanks for the information. My wife went fishin alot with her dad, but is "nervous" when I talk about taking our daughter in a boat, but Im gonna do it anyhow....
I can only hope she enjoys fishin as much as your daughter appears to. She's a natural.
thanks for post, Im sure it will bring many smiles to this forum
