Default Best fish finder 1000.00 or less. LCX27C ?

Looking for the best fish finder for 1000.00 dollars or less . Thinking about a Lowrance LCX 27C or will a LMS 522C do just as good? Thanks for any help.

Most of us don't have complete boats worth $1000. I could never save and/or hide that much money from my wife to buy anything. But, if I did I would get a side sonar.

I'd recommend the Hummingbird 525 unless you think you need color. It cost $125 at Wal Mart and is a great unit. It has "VIEW" setting so you can change the screen view to how you like it, water temp, and a "1-10" backlight setting. What more do you need. Tac on another $800 if you want GPS. My favorite feature is that you can change the view to HUGE numbers (depth/temp) so I can see the screen from the back of the boat and it's mounted on the bow even in direct sunlight. It has a very fast sonar rate so you see exactly what's going on when your over it. Low battery draw is kinda nice too. I'm very happy with my unit and it's easy to read and use. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Not to mention $125! Use the extra money for equipment.
