scouting report is............ One 16 1/2 inch black crappie and one 10 inch black bass. Both caught on a 1/8 jig head with a Yum beavertail tube jig. That was in 1 1/2 hours of fishing. Beautiful Day to catch two fish.

    Brad,

I know this is really late. But I just found this website and joined. My husband's deer camp is @ Bluff City and we have been fishing White Oak for the past 4 weeks. We have caught well over 400 fish divided between 10-11 people over the past 4 weekends. If you have a boat, then there are several good places to go on the Lower White Oak anyway. If you launch @ the Hog Wild Saloon, there are 2 plastic poles that stick out of the water to your left. One is orange and one is blue. There is a brush pile under there and the fish have been stacked like cord wood there and other places we fish. Get on the other side of the blue pole and cast towards the bank. You'll go right over it. The second weekend that the weather was rough and it was really cold, my husband caught 43 there. He was fishing with a popsicle colored jig and a casting reel. Reeling it in really slow. Another place to try is right along the area behind you where the stumps are between that island and the stumps. Also the area on the backside of that same island between the boat channel and state park area. We have caught a lot of fish that were 2-3 lbs. Monster Slabs. Hope this helps. You need to give White Oak another chance. You'll catch fish.
