Man it was a beautiful day. Had alot of fun on the flooded water. Thanks to Jerry's help we salvaged the day and learned a few spots we can fish in the flood. Should be good when the water get warmer. Won't be long.

The boat ramp is behind me and to the right. You can just see the roof of the bulletin board out of the water. Boats can probably be launched there on the road by the bathrooms.

Well, it didn't come up as far as it looked like it was going to. I was told they don't plan to start generating until Monday so it's going to come up a bit more but right now it's probably just over 557. Full pool is 548 and it will probably crest around 558. The spillway is at 563 so it's not going to go over unless we get another toad floater.
We found a few places that weren't real muddy but it will probably all be fairly dingy in another day or two as it mixes together.
You can probably still put a boat in using the parking lot at the boat ramp at Daisy State Park but I imagine all the other boat ramps are closed.
The water warmed up nicely today and it looks like we'll finally have the temps they need to spawn. Unfortunately the water will likely be falling for at least two weeks so they're probably going to have to wait a bit longer or take their chances that it won't fall too fast to get a batch off.
With all three generators running and one flood gate 1/4-open starting yesterday (Monday) morning the lake came down about 7-inches before it started raining again today. If they had to stop releasing water to reduce flooding downstream (what the dam was built for) then it will start rising again. We keep getting these systems that "train" along the same line and dump way too much water on us.
Thanks Jerry for keeping us posted on lake condtion!
Yeah Jerry! Thanks for the updates. I'm watching the weather from up here in Nebraska every day and doing a "Stop rain Dance" for all of you.
Actually praying the rain will stop so Our visit on the 24th will be acceptable!
Keep us posted!
Just an update on my original post about Greeson. The lake is much higher than before but come hell or high water it will get better. And, probably before any of us expect it to. Here are some pics for your viewing.

Point 10 in the center of the lake on the main channel. Good bass fishing spot in the fall.

Kirby's east camp, view from the marina. The boat ramp is to the right and you can see the bathroom in the background between the campers.

Jerry, Jim and Charlie. The camper usually sits behind and to the left of the transom of Jerry's boat in this picture. Notice the power boxes and walkway in the background for the docks.

Thanks for the updates!
Looks like you guys have a nice forcast for the next 7 days... Hope you get some drying, water droppage and clearage..
:)
it's unbelievable how high that is. I still remember how low it was last fall. that is a lot of water to have come up that much. I guess the corp knows what they are doing when they do a drawdown in the fall. I'm sure that those spots on dry ground that darryl marked in the fall will come in handy now.
Nimrod has been flowing over the spillways for days. It's still over 34' above normal pool. We have water over several roads including state hwy 28.:( Our fish won't have any problem finding cover to spawn in this year. This maybe the thing for a bumper crop of fish in 2 or 3 years.:)
