old town

Could anyone tell me how far old town is from helena. I'm from northeast arkansas and was just wandering how long it would take to get there and if it's even worth the trip.

No problem. I live in LR, but grew up in J-boro. I still miss NEA.

I'm thinking it's 11 miles from the intersection at Barton to the lake. Barton is before you get to Helena. I do know it's 44 miles from Forrest City, but you'll likely be coming in from Brinkley.

What town do you live in? My brother lives in Jonesboro and it is about 2 hours from there if I remember correctly. He and I fish Old Town frequently. Just take Highway 1 south out of Jonesboro. Go thorough Wynne, Forrest City, and Marianna. About 15 minutes south of Marianna is Barton (highway 49) Cross it and it is about 9 miles from that. A word of warning. The last chance for gas is at Barton. If you need diesel, Marianna is the last chance.

I'm from blytheville about 50 miles east of jonesboro

My advice would be to come down the interstate to West Memphis and then west on I40 to Highway 79 West to Marianna and then get on highway 1 South. That should save you at least 30 to 45 minutes.
