    Default memphis area

Making a trip down from southern illinois the week of the 15th with two buddies to fish for two days. One of them lived in marion AR for 4 years and fished horseshoe and midway alot. Was wondering if anyone had any info to help us out. It looks like the river will still be in midway at that time, was wandering how bad that will be on the fishing. Looking for water temps and depth, and any other good places to fish for spawning crappie. Any info would be great. thanks

    Default yankee doodle dandy!

Midway is where you need to go. That fresh water really turns the fish
on. Go back in the woods until you hit water 2-3' fish jigs close to the
cover and hold on. If you here the banjo's playing you may want to hull
-ss. You and your fellow doodle suckers enjoy your trip!

Haven't been to Midway in a year or so. But the river is about a 1/3 up the levee everywhere else. I son't know that Midway will be an option.
Burnt Cane could be good between now and then though!

Horseshoe is up enough now so you can easily launch boats. I'd prob. try there first. Bear Creek lake is good for bream & bass, but I haven't done very well on crappie there.

Bear creek is good for crappie also...I haven't fished there this year but did very well last year...tossing 1/32 to the bank and slow reeling back...anything heavier and you stay hung.
