The water level last week was not at full pool, but within a foot or so. Water clarity varies from good to murky, but it's fishable. I didn't catch much that day, but it can turn on quick. Karefree landing is now open, and the launch fee is $7.00. Never paid that much before, but I've never paid as much for gas as I have lately either!

The other put in spot on the south end of the lake charges $5, but it would be a long motor if you are fishing the north end.

I fished there Sat. in the rain and thought the color looked fine. We caught 31 that we kept, but they weren't great size. We caught the most fish in 20 -24 feet of water just a little off the bottom, but we caught better fish in 15 - 16 feet of water just a little off the bottom. If I remember right the surface temp was 58 degrees.

Yes, minnows, but we put tube jig bodies ahead of the minnow on about 1/2 of the hooks. It seemed that the ones with a solid black body in front of the minnow did the best, a bare minnow 2d, and a Tennessee shad body (black on front end) in front of the minnow 3d. Every thing else was about even and a far 4th. It was very cloudy and dark all day, so that may be why the black seemed to work so well.
