    Default Water temp on Conway?

I was out at Dix Creek Monday afternoon late for an hour and a half. Only caught one. I was in the only boat I have without a graph, so I have no idea what the water temp was. Can somebody enlighten me?
Also, has anybody heard anything about any of the other parts of the lake besides Gold Creek? At Bates they said folks were doing pretty good around the north end of the lake. Said things were pretty hot around Caney Creek, but I just don't know much about that area.
    Thanks

Hey Rowdy, Dano at Gold Creek tells me he has lake maps for $4 with depths, chanel locations, etc. Sounds like a good investment if you are going to fish Conway much. When you locate fish, mark the map and your gps, and there you go.
If you're too busy to go fishing, you're too busy!

Rowdy first of all welcome to the board. Sure do hope you can make it out to the next Conway gathering we have at Gold Creek.

CEB and I fished Sunday morning and the temp was back down to 40. With the weater were having this week I cant imagine how fast its rising. Bet Danno chimes in if he sees the thread and can give you and hour by hour update.

Thanks for the welcome. I've fished the lake for years and have had probably ten of those maps. I'm down to my last one now. I wish someone would print an updated version. It seems so many of the areas have silted in so bad that alot of the depths given on the map are a little off.
I knew the water still felt awfully cool when I was out there Monday, but I didn't know exactly what it was. If the rain will hold off long enough I'm going to try to get back out there Thursday afternoon.

    Welcome to the board!

I was out there Wednesday and the temp was around 57 degrees and dropped back down to 50 by dark. Fishing was really slow with the exception of one spurt around dark and the ones i caught were all under 1lb and in shallow water. I think between the lake rising and falling (just like the temperature) it has them tight-lipped. The next few weeks should push them out to the flats and be a little more productive.

    Thanks
We caught 5 pretty good ones on yo-yo's Thursday night. Put them out just before dark, but the storms ran us back to the truck. We came back about out a little after 9 with two pretty good ones. The other 3 came pretty quick after that, but another storm was coming up, so took up the yo-yo's and pulled out. The biggest was probably 16-17" and the smallest about 12. Also caught one about 6" that we threw back on the way back to the truck before the first storm.
We only had time to get 16 yo-yos out before the wind got up too much. But when we pulled them up, 2 were missing. We've never lost one due to the string coming loose before, and we tied these even better than normal due to the wind. We checked every limb before we tied them on. And with the reflective tape we've got on them, you can't miss them. There was one other group out there at the time, which in my mind, makes them the only option as to where our yo-yo's went. There's alot of things I don't understand in this world, but a theif is right up there at the top.

Thanks. I knew if the air would ever warm, the water would follow quickly.
