Welcome from Little Rock. Like CEB said, I do fish the Little Maumelle upstream. The water has been really screwed up with the rain on the Little Maumelle. If the AR River is high and they have the gates open at the Big Dam Bridge, it sucks the water out of LMR. With all the rain we have had, I don't see the LMR calming down for a couple of weeks.

You can get to the lake in The Ranch subdivision from the LMR. That thing has some HUGE crappie in it. Also the finger off of the LMR that leads to the ranch has some nice crappie in it. The finger that runs behind the Blue Bird Soccer fields (the horse ranch as you cross the tracks on the left before you cross the road bridge on the LMR) has some good fishing. Look out for the big gator back there. There is a big pool right off the dock at the soccer fields. Before you go into that finger there are a bunch of cypress trees with numbers marked on them. Come March / April you will be able to catch 2-3 fish around each one of them.

I'd like to hang out with ya'll on the 23...but headed to Hot Springs that weekend. I'm sure we will other chances in the next few months as this is the best time of year to be a crappie fisherman!

ceb & LRJoe1...thanks for the tips about LMR. I have catfished around there...caught some really nice ones!!! It's about like anywhere else, you do some work and set tops out...then you have a place to fish!
