Default Condo's for Lake Conway (Gold Creek)

    Guys,

I know that there are some brush piles in gold creek and the pond, but I have about 8 Christmas trees ready to sink.

Do any of you have any ideas on where to put these. I would like to get some suggestions from the folks that fish it like me.

I will take suggestions, go sink them, and come back and tell you all where they are. One place that I think would be good is under the railroad bridge. Give some suggestions folks.

r-r bridge is a good idea, there is one big tree standing up almost right in the channel.another area overlooked because of the rush...of the pool,is out at gold point and gold lake.look at your maps.15 ft water off the point, tree line and channel.i know a guy that has piles out there.they produce fish year round. yesterdays report is 1 man catching his limit for the second day from 9am to3:30 pm.5ft deep chartreuse jig under a bobber.he said they barely jiggle the bobber.1 other had 10 with 2 biguns, carhart bibman came in the afternoon caught 12 slower for him.today- slow with with the wind blowing your hat off!

    Default big channel

Dan and I could be talking about the same place....
I have always wanted to sink some about 2 miles east from Dan's. Go under the bridge, follow the bouys and lane markers toward the point you can see to your left. Directly across from the point the tree line follows the drop off of the channel. There is plenty of timber and cover already. But, I have always wondered if boo or Christmas trees would offer something different for winter and summer time fish.

yeah DP its actually not even a mile, takes 5min.same distance to pool.and yes the point, gold point is on the right.15' of water and holds fish.gold creek runs right through it to gold lake.oh yeah DP that guy that hits that area confirmed that he catches crappie out there in the summer.i fished it with him many moons ago in spring and caught nice fish.i also saw a big mess of fish from him and his buddy this year early summer.

Sounds like a good spot to me. I've seen fish on the depthfinder holding there by the RR, but never have caught one (haven't given it much effort either). We also need to get some smaller stuff in that 2nd cove.

What is the second cove you are talking about? Instead of turning right into the big cove just go straight?

If you don't turn into the first cove, go about another 40 yards up the creek and it is on your right hand side. Stay down the middle. There is a shallow rock ledge on the right hand side.
