    Default Old Town Lake

Has anybody fished Old Town in the last couple of weeks. I generally make a trip or two down there each year but it is a long drive. Just trying to get an update on the fishing before I make the trek down there. Also, has anybody ever heard of a small lake on the Mississippi River called Whitehall Cutoff. It is not too far from Midway, also it is close to the Battleaxe Ramp on the Miss. River.

You can drive the levee south from Midway and reach Whitehall.

How is the fishing in Whitehall. I heard it was great a few years ago but not sure how it is now. I guess each time the Mississippi gets up it refreshes the lake???

I haven't fished Whitehall in a few years. Midway hasn't been that good for me the last few years, but I like to fish it.

We fished White Hall and Midway last spring. Midway was low on water but we caught 8 very large crappie. Next day we went to white hall and struggled to catch one but the wind was blowing about 97 miles an hour and we spent most of our time hiding rather than fishing. Also, in white hall watch out for those carp that jump out of the water...we had one jump in the boat and scared the h#%@ out of us. They are not far apart and can both be fished in the same day.
