Beautifull mount and very nice fish; I will get one someday LOL.
Thanks for the comments guys. I'm really proud of her, but now that so much time has passed since I caught her, I really wish that she was still runnin' through those trees with me hot on her tail...
The mount was done at the Cult just outside of Star City. The pic really doesn't do it justice. It looks much, much better in person. You can tell the guy really took his time with her.
Hey Ceb, where did you catch her?
Good looking mount.
They did a real nice job on it. Thanks for the picture buddy. Don
That's a beauty Chris. Do you think it may have been a hybrid? It has a faint vertical bar pattern and only see six dorsal spines indicating a white but it sure has the body build of a black.
That is 1 good lookin fish buddy, Congrats
I know the feeling....Quote:

Yours is a quality mount though. Mine was done by Chipmonks in North Little Rock. I didn't have a clue who to take it to. I still don't know the fellow at all; but, he did a great job.
I don't think I have ever seen a mount with the mouth closed. Was that your choice??

She was caught at Cane Creek. 1st fish of the morning...wasn't even expecting a fish at the moment...but boy was I surprised when she came up to the surface tryin' to climb that tree...:D
Not sure about Hybrid vs White. I've caught a couple of these out there, and they tended to be the bigger fish that I've landed. They do have a somewhat vertical bar pattern to them, but it seems that one side of the crappie will have it and the other side will not be very noticeable. Maybe they are hybrids? Regardless, I'd like to find out the answer, especially since Jerry and I have caught several that look like that.
And I decided on the closed mouth. I don't really know why, except that an open-mouth mount doesn't look very realistic to me. Maybe if I saw one with something like a baitfish or jig that the crappie was chasing... Oh well, that's what I decided on...and don't think I can change my mind now...:D
