    Default Lake Erling heating up

Caught 30 keepers and threw back about 20 more in around 4 hours. Big fish was about 15 inches, but most were 10 inch fish. 99% caught on gold minnows, 9 to 12 feet deep. Fish were grouping up on the creek ledges.

I took my 6 yr. old little girl after church this afternoon and we caught 12 keepers. Rained here this morning, so that may have slowed them alittle.

    Hey Brad,
I made a drive by up there to scope things out but and I understand there are two ramps with camping. One on the west side down a long, very dusty, gravel road out of Bradly's hwy 160. I found this one but there where a bunch of drunk deer hunters camped there and nobody was fishing. Some bank fishermen there said the one on the East side was better but I couldn't find it. I headed east on 160 and then took a left/north on 160/53 and went about 7 miles but never saw a sign. I sure would like to fish it sometime and was thinking about staying over in my Dodge motel if the fishing was good. Thanks, Don

Take Hwy 3 to stateline. Hwy 3 turns into Ark 29. Follow Ark 29 to Canfield, Hwy 360. Turn Right on Hwy 360 and follow to Blackwell's sign on the right(about 3 or 4 miles). Turn right and follow to the next Blackwell's sign on the Right( about 1 to 1 1/2). Turn right and follow to boat ramp(about 1/2 mile).

I don't know the number there or if they allow camping, but he has plenty of room for a few campers. From the boat ramp it is about a 3 minute boat ride down the creek to where we been catching them.
