on good days we'll catch 30 or so 10" to 12" crappie, on bad days we will catch 15 13" or larger crappie. It dosen't make much sence why the little ones bite one day and the big ones bite better the next and the little ones shut off. I love the big fish but it's nice to catch a couple few limits of fish with customers! Like you said it will all come together soon!
I am going to try and get down there this winter and hang out with you guys again. I encourage you and Darryl to come up and fish SWEPCO with me this winter also.

I think we finally picked a good weekend to have Crappie Camp. The extended forcast is looking great and the crappie are cooperating every day so things are shaping up for a fun and productive weekend. The lake is low but holding steady and we have plenty of cover to fish around that's at the right depth.
We left the bass alone today and went looking for better quality crappie than we found yesterday and it paid off:

looks like a Great trip there Jerry. Hope they keep it up for this weekend.

Lookin' good, Jerry. It figures that since this CC is gonna have some good weather...I'm not gonna make it down. I hope y'all have a fun and safe time this weekend. Be sure to eat a fillet or two or a dozen for me...

Glad that the fish are doing good some places. Lake Nimrod is near it's low point and muddy on the west end. Crappie fishing has been mostly slow and few fishermen out. We need some fresh water to cool off those 80+water temps.

my family & I really enjoyed the camp this fall. the weather was absolutely fabulous. my youngest daughter made a new friend in cameron, tj adams son. they had a great time playing in the fire during the fish fry. we had a pretty good time on the fishing too. we wound up making it more of a spotted bass camp than crappie camp. we couldn't get the crappie to cooperate with us. The only regret that i have is that i lost a big fish, and more importantly a good grappler shad on something huge off of a rocky bank. now i've got to replace it.
On a note, the temps were still in the mid-70's this weekend w/ all of the sunshine. Today, after all of the rain, the temps on the lake here at home are 68 degrees. I know they will pop back up some with some sun, but we're not far from those consistent 60's that we need for the fall frenzy here at the house. I'm ready for the cool weather.

Jill and I arrived home at about 6:30 last night. We had a great time at Fall Crappie Camp, even though the bite was tough. Many thanks go out to Darryl & Jerry for the hospitality and tips they provided to us over the weekend. Many thanks also to Jason and Grubby(?) for their pointers and guidance on Sunday morning.
It was nice to meet everyone, and hopefully I can remember the names for future reference. Jill and I plan on coming back down for Spring Crappie Camp, and look forward to getting to know all of you a bit better.
Thanks again for a great time!!
