Knowing their passion for crappie, I know they are a little embarassed to let us all know they will target something else. Sometimes confession is good for the soul.

Yep, live crawfish right on the bottom on rocky main channel and creek channel points. They were a bit slower and smaller average size today but we still had some fun with them.

I have a daily "Trip Report" page on my website now to let folks know how and where we're catching fish. Here's the link and there's a link at the top of my pictures page - http://www.actionfishingtrips.com/tripreports.htm.

Good to see Jason's report on Beaver. We just need a little more of a cool down and the crappie should be turning on here.

The bass are fun and certainly worth going after when the crappie are a little slow. The bass action has been furious limiting out most times in about 2 hours. They're not always on the same points and you have to run and gun till you find them. When you do you had better be ready. When they stop, run to the next point. It's completely different from crappie fishing though. You've got to let them take it and swim off before setting the hook. It's hard to fight the urge to set the hook when you feel the first bite like we do on crappie. I'm taking today off but I'll be back on the water tomorrow. We're being told by some of the old locals that it's just getting started with the bass. These are all spotted bass up to 2 pounds. I'd like to see some of the largemouth bass show up in the 4 to 6 pound range or better.

Just for the record Darryl and Jerry, I am just now starting to see the full effect of the bamboo! Alot of those fish in that picture came from boo I've planted on creek channel ledges. Thanks again. I have found quite a bit of bamboo up here as well.
The invitation is still out this winter for you guys to come up and fish Swepco (the hot water big bass lake) with me. Any time you want go when you slow down just holler!
