Default question for y'all lil rock boys

this is directed to the lil rock fishermen. my broinlaw "bunny" has 1 of the poorest excuses for a tackel boxes that i have ever seen, i mean just pitiful! I would like to put him together a box that has good stuff in it. I have decided on the small plano w/ the pull out interchangable boxes, but not being fron the rock and not havin much fishin experance down there i have no idea where to begin. TJ whats in your box? and all you other fellas what do y'all use. keeping in mind that "Bunny" lives on the river just off 430, please help me make an educated choice to get this man some good stuff.

    Thanks

Basically he fishes for panfish and crappie. I'm sending him home with my other boat next time he and kitty visit, so he will have access to all the little lakes in that area. he is also retired at the young age of 54 (poor guy) so i know he will put this stuff to good use. I can pretty much put together the term tackle, and mainly need help with the jigs, plastics, small spinner baits, basically the stuff that you would replace right away if your box was to come up missing.

when he gets the new boat home you wont be able to miss him. he'll be in a 1957 crestliner deep vee w/ a 1959 johnson 35 on it, hes a super cool guy, and very very very laid back. so when y'all see him just walk over and say hey Bunny

I agree with Nimrod about the species of fish on the river. Sounds like he is near the Little Maumelle though. I have fished the river with mainly the colors I would any off colored body of water...Chartruse, blue and white, etc. I have been buying mine from Mid south.

Jigs - I would get 1/32, 1/16, in black, white, and chartreuse.
    tubes - black/chartreuse, blue/white, red/white.
Hair jigs - I would get colors in black, brown, green, chartreuse, and the like.
jig spinners - I would get roadrunners, but the crappie pro jig spinners are nice too, and they have them in black.

that should take care of most of the crappie applications. You might want to consider some of the smallest paddletail swimbaits you can find, too, I use them often for crappie and they work.

Don't get over compilcated and stick to your basic Crappie jigs. I use only 1/8 oz leadheads and Umbrella Tubes. But most of the time I fish in water 6 to 10' deep. Crappie feed on larger shad than most people think. You may need to get bobbers , split shot and a few wire hooks if he's a live bait man . He needs to figure out where to fish and build some Crappie Condos to have success on a regular basis. Good luck and one question , is he on the forum yet ?
