I'm Dufus
At the invite of a freind who attends First Baptist in Cabot, I was in a shooting contest held at Remington's skeet range. I have never done anything quite like this before. But, it was my day...almost. My name was in the pot twice (by mistake) for a door prize. Wouldn't you know it; I have never won a door prize in my life and they called my name twice. The first time I won ceramic duck. I am saving it to give to Mimi for her aniversury in October. I also won a light for the bill of my cap. I gave that away to a kid that was getting anxious about winning something. Then he wins a guided dove hunt next weekend.
To top the day off...
I had been hearing about old "So and So" and his buddies having perfect scores last year. I finished the day shooting 43 out of 50. I was proud of that acheivement. But, today I learned there was a three way tie for first place in my class and I was one of the three. There was a "shoot off" to determine the champ and I had already left. I still don't know if I won anything for coming in at least third or not. I understand there were some kids there that had better scores than us old timers.
However I had a blast. If any one from FBC Cabot reads this, tell the organizers to bring a couple more slabs of ribs next year. I will be bringing a couple of boys that think they are hotshots next year.
